Homes

This home features rigid continuous rock wool insulation board on the exterior of a hybrid timber frame/traditional frame construction. There is no plywood or drywall used used in the Construction of this building. The Rock wool serves as permanent formwork for the 8″ of Hempcrete blown insulation on the inside. Every penetrating joist and beam was wrapped and sealed prior to installation of the hempcrete so that the plaster alone would not have to bear the full burden for air tightness. There are no moister barriers to impede moisture permeability. The pine siding boards are hung over a vented airspace to facilitate moisture flow out of building.
